Thanks Gasifier but you can take that young out, even though today wasn't that bad, I needed a few more waters.

Sure are, I'm thinking about building a stand that will be the height of the beam on the splitter so I can split horizontal, I can use the tractor to lift the rounds.

Our neighbor just called to thank me for the wood, she was gone four wheeling when I brought it down. They were outside having a fire with the wood.

I did ask her if they wanted more pine and she said yes so tomorrow weather permitting I'll make a few runs down with the bucket full on the tractor.

    YES! :faint:YES HE DID! :faint::picard:

I have found that placing the bucket right next to the splitter I can split the small to medium size rounds horizontally and then drop them right into the bucket. Nice. If I straighten them up as I go along I can fill it right up and it is ready to be delivered to the stacking area. Then right out of the bucket and into the stack.

If I could get this dead pine tree horizontal I would be happy, I don't trust the top on it but I'll get a pic tomorrow.

It's up there pretty good so I might need a longer cable.

Why not just notch it and drop it with the saw? Is it near something?

I have to check for widowmakers first, if everything is okay I'll get a cable on it after I put the notch in it and then fell it.

I took one bucket load of old pine down to our neighbor and another load in the rhino. I'll let them burn some of this before I run some more pine down.

After the first delivery we had a nice gab fest for about two hours.

Gasifier , this is the tree that I was talking about yesterday, the top is pretty rotten so I'll leave it to Mother Nature. 102_0349.JPG

After I brought the pine to our neighbor today, I told the neighbor that I would start on a downed Hemlock near the brook next week, there will be plenty of limbing.

I'll have a new pic next week, the posted pic shows the general area I'll be working. 100_9541-002.JPG

Thanks woodsman416 , the tractor will come in handy, especially when we get the backhoe on it in another 30 hours, machine time.

We plan on building a cabin (been talking about it for many years) but with the tractor it will make the foundation work much easier.

We also need a nice shed to store the tractor in.

I finished up splitting what was left of the pine in picture 0354, I think that I'll make a pile of pine for winter burning in the outside fireplace.

We'll throw an old tarp over it so it stays dry.

I'm starting to look for a snowplow for it, the bucket has a quick release so they should make a quick release snowplow for it.

If the weather is ok tomorrow, we plan on moving some junk wood (hemlock branches) into the trailer so we can haul it to the town wood dump.

We'll have some pictures tomorrow if the weather permits us to work.

The weather didn't look promising this morning so we did Thursdays running around today, we'll get the junk wood tomorrow.
