Is it because they cannot or they wont, or do they actually sell at that price?? They are sold at the box stores as well for much less.
I've never seen NEWPs at box stores around here. They are pretty much only sold by stove/pellet dealers and Agway. I've seen them go for $279, but those shops are not in my area and that was a couple of years ago when that was a pretty high price compared to other middling brands. I don't know whether the overhead costs of all the small dealers/Agway etc around here are so high that they can't go lower, whether the pellet mill tells them they can't go lower, or they have an agreement between dealers to stay within the same price range. Oh, and most of those places don't deliver. Agway will only deliver if it is over 3 tons and there is another place that is 25 miles from me and they wanted $100 to deliver back in the winter of 2013/2014. I imagine it has gone up since then.
These days the NEWPs are selling around here for $240 - $250. We only see the ones from the NY mills. Funny thing is they cost even more in GS bags at Lowes and TSC, so far this season.
So you can get them from another state cheaper than I can get it from 3-4 towns over (from the NH mill). Pretty sad.
When I put my stove on Stat, I don't move anything. The stove just seems to compensate all by itself. Last year, I put it on stat and left it there. The stove stayed cleaner and didn't get that really hard speed bump in the burn tray. The year before, I went to constant and had to run it on low or get cooked out. Stat works much better for me. I think the stove might be a bit oversized for what I really need, but I am very happy with it.
You think you could tolerate being around the masses of people in Florida during the winter? I went down there get visit my parents when they were alive. I couldn't stand it then. There wasn't anyplace to go where I could be away. They drove like they owned the roads and could care less about the other guy. My parents lived in one of those snow bird retirement areas. They learned to use the side roads to work their way around the town.
It is just that those "from away" don't have a clue about how to live independently. They tend to bring "their ways" here and try to impose them on the rest of us, just like they did when they forced the National monument on us. Wood burners don't fall into that category. We welcome about anyone who wants to live and let live.
Maybe go light on those blue ridge Russell. I just noticed the published specs for them indicate .9 ash.
Northern AZ? That is the best part. I was in Tucson for a while. Nothing but sand and cactus. Northern part is wooded and very nice to be in.
Some at Black Canyon and some near Flagstaff. I lived in KS for 20+ years, and NM for a little while, I think I can handle "boring" scenery. I find it very nice myself.
Thats exactly what I look like when I stack pellets! Never heard of this 802 pellets. Anybody got some and wanna trade? I have more brands then you can imagine
