My wife and I do a lot of volunteer work for a Christian camp near our home and the Camp Director just told me that he wants to get started on a new pasture for their horse program. Its a tough one; 18 acres on the side of a hill. Its not going to be pristine pasture for sure, just more room for the horses to roam, but there is a lot of ledge and tracked machines don't like that! I do a lot of land clearing and have about 62 acres of clearing to do on the docket this year alone, and have done hundreds of acres in the past. I am looking forward to it though. I love the vast change from nasty clear cut to perfectly smoothed land, and of course spending hours on a massive bulldozer. Typically when I clear land I use a John Deere 850. I cleared 20 acres on my own farm a few years ago, and while it was here, my wife and I got silly and did a "Trash the Dress" photo shoot just for fun. Here she is trying to save her tree; a white pine that she loved so dearly.

I got a better one that is even more funny...okay, not the picture of her driving my Kubota in her wedding gown pulling out the "stuck" John Deere 850, (like that would ever happen) but another one. I showed it to my pastor and he said since we are married there is nothing wrong with it, and it was my wife's idea to boot. If anyone is truly offended, I feel sorry for you as life is short.
In case anyone does not know; Trash the Dress is where the bride...instead of leaving her wedding dress in a closet to get moth eaten and yellow over the next 20 years...gives it one last go round. It might be in the ocean, in an abandoned building anywhere where it will get trashed. Since we just cleared out back field, we trashed her dress in the mud. But here is the killer, Katie could not bring herself to trash her REAL wedding dress so we went to a thrift store, spent $40 bucks on one, and trashed it instead.
Great pictures and it looks like you guys had lots of fun. and God said it is not good for man to be alone, let us make a helpmate for him. Grab ahold of your bride and hang on.......oh wait it looks like you did grab your bride....
