Yeah I got off the couch about 1 AM, went to bed and covered up with the comforter, a thinner blanket, the sheet, and a cat to keep warm while sleeping. The other cat didn't join me - guess it wasn't all that cold since it was only a 1 cat night ;)

When we got up this morning it was 49 outside and 62 in the house. We had left a lot of windows open. Not complaining, quite the opposite actually, loving it because the house needed a good cool down, with no AC running! It seems like it has been excessively hot and humid here for ages!

That's funny! Considering all the heat you have had. I'd tell you cover with, but that would be TMI for you!!!

Back in the heat again for a few days only.

Had to take my sweety in to the dentist to get an abscessed tooth hacked out.

    Been there done that chit.

There is a lump on the couch with an ice pack clutched up close and personal. :(

At least the offending tooth is in the trash now

And I hate paying the dental bill! But I win sometimes because I don't go along with some of the stuff he wants me to buy, like routine x-rays, fluoride treatments, (those made me sick for days after) and I don't go as often has he would like, but I do go on my schedule and so far, my schedule has allowed me to keep what I have and not go broke.

Dental costs are through the roof ! Worse is the dental insurance that only covers 50% of a major procedure and then they pick and choose which ones they wont cover at all. If the work is done on my teeth or gums, cover the damm procedure up to the max payout for the year !!!! What a scam.

    Hi subsailor,

Doing fine, shortly the walker will go, I don't really need it in the house, level surface you know. Balance has recovered a lot, the double vision resolved shortly after coming home, cath gone and I haven't exploded yet. the boss wore me out before PT yesterday grinding stuff for a garden relish( stood up in one spot too long, spring in knee got mixed up). Get to jar it this morning.

went as a kid to an old school hacker. 1960's - cable drill, no novacane, he's just go at it. and i had lots of cavities! he didn't care if he drilled nerve or tooth or bone or gums. I had to walk to the dentist cause it was only 1/2 mile or so. That was like a death march - until at around age 12 or so i rebelled and refused to go to him any more. changed dentists to a very nice young guy.

my blood pressure still goes up 20 points and i start sweating when i go in there now. but it is getting better slowly. cracked a tooth and had it pulled last week for an implant - first one - wasn't bad, surprisingly

What gets my goat about dentist, you call and tell them you have a toothache that is killing you, then the receptionist gives you an appointment for "next week". Thank goodness, that is one thing age seems to have helped. No more tooth aches. No idea why.

I fought bad teeth all my life.

Finally back in 07 I had had enough of the "Spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$" on root canals, crowns and such only to have the tooth break off a year or so later.

Got with a dentist that was a real prince and we made a plan.

Yanked the entire mess out and got a lovely set of cosmetic dentures ( Fancy name for pick your style of teeth)

Best thing I have ever done.

Got a lovely smile (Factory stuff was crooked and ugly)

I wish I had saved the countless thousands of $$$ trying to fix the mess and gone with the dentures 20 years earlier.

A good dentist that knows what they are doing and a good fitting and them store bought choppers are a sweet deal.

NO MORE TOOTH ACHES, ABSCESSES AND MISERY

    OMG
We had one of those butchers here when I was growing up.

The dentist I found was great.

My BP would go off into the ozones too.

Sitting there in his office the first time and a batch of little kids storm in the place with mom running to catch up.

    Hmmmmm.

Little buggers all run and give "Doctor Nick" a big hug and then they fight over who got in the chair first

    ?????????????????????

    Interesting.

    Soooooooooooo
I figure if a batch of kids (usually scared to death of the dentist) can't wait to see him, then he must be way cool dude.

    Perfect.

Sadly he moved to Alaska A COUPLE YEARS AGO :(

New fella that took over the practice is a good guy too, just does not have the same charm.

Get a good one and they are a treasure.
