    Too dry here for mushrooms or fungus.
    <2 inches of rain in July
    <1 inch so far August.
    Too dry for weeds to grow in the compost pile even.

    Jeffrey Svoboda as you know it's been a really dry summer but our drought ended on July 30 when we got .8" of rain. The next night we got another 2.4". Altogether we have received over 6" of rain in the last 3 weeks and got more today.


    Ha. I typed the above yesterday but never posted it. So, here it is. I'll add that we got another .6" yesterday so we're close to 7" since 7/30.

    I only eat mushrooms I get from the grocery store. I know lots of folks who eat mushrooms they have gathered, but to me, I know the poison ones are real poisonous. I suppose it is like knowing not to eat green potatoes or rhubarb leaves from the garden.

    Since taking the pictures, more have popped up. No doubt it is because of that long stretch of super humid air we had along with the rain and terrible heat.
