You guys have much milder winters and different soil makeup there in NC so all I can say is, here in Ohio we would have "rut city" there without stripping the top soil. Not having to do that sure saves you a lot of time/work/money!

Oh boy, that was a lot of work Eric.

I would've rented some equipment to make it easier.

Humping rocks around is hard work.

My ex was (is) in steel fabrication - welder, then shop foreman, then PM. So I flipped a coin between detailer and estimator and chose the wrong one :).

To be fair, you can move stone really well with a snow shovel - just not one of those plastic jobbies. A nice aluminum scoop shovel (others may call them grain shovels), however, does a fine job as long you don't try to cram too much rock in it and give yourself a hernia (kind of like with snow - don't fill that baby to the top).

    BTW - looks good!

OOOHHH, I like. Next year when I have time to start working on my yard (and enlarging my driveway), I'll need to see if one of those is available around here. Would sure save my back and legs!

My buddy is a cow tipper. That's what they call 'em...he is a hoof trimmer...they run the cows into a chute that flips them on their side so they can get a proper pedicure. He makes a surprisingly good living at it...poor working conditions most of the time though

Yeah, Eric-why don't you buy your wife one of those nice grain shovels so she doesn't have to move that stone around with a plastiv shovel???????
