At 4 years old my daughter wanted to do everything she could. I got her into tee ball with the local little league. She worked up through instructional, minors and major league. Our town had a great program and was in the state all star tournament every year she played. At 8 she decided she wanted to be a pitcher, we have been going to a pitching coach every Sunday since. At 9 she wanted to play ASA travel ball. She worked her way to the top starting with our local team. Last year she had the opportunity to move from a very good team she had played with for a few years to, undoubtedly, the best team in the state. We are very proud of what she has achieved and hope it continues. This season out of the 4 tournaments they have done so far they have won 2, took 2nd while playing up an age group, and had 1 weekend that just wasn't theirs. 4 more to go. We all have a love hate relationship with all of it. Spending weekend after weekend in hotels, never getting stuff done around the house, traveling across New England, dealing with rain or 95 degrees and sunburnt, but as a team we wouldn't give it up. The girls are all 15 this year, 3 more and it's over.
Wow! Proud Papa moment for sure! That's great that y'all have helped her to pursue her dreams, so many parents are content to serve themselves these days... My hat is off to you sir, and to your family and daughter for doing things as a team! She will no doubt succeed in life as a result of all of the life lessons she has witnessed AND been an active participant in. Bravo, tree killer And Hurray for the enduring American family
Lots and lots of hours invested through little league is paying off. Between winter clinics coaching taking care of the fields working concessions and practice the time has come for her to take it on her own. Her biggest passion is softball. Really hurt me I couldn't leave the hospital and go to Massachusetts last weekend but all the team kept me up to date.
Made the 4 hour trip to concord. A little sore but made it. Playing up a level in this tournament. First game in the books, won by mercy rule, 11-2 in 5 innings against an older team. Starting the weekend off on the right track. That's my girl at bat.
After pool play we finished 3rd seed. Went 3-0. Ready for tomorrow. Great things with this team, decided to have a cookout and some adult beverages in the back parking lot of the hotel. 11 strong and best friends.
7 games played to take home the hardware. Had some good competition for the last 2 games but came out on top. Proud of these girls proving they are unstoppable. Next weekend in providence Rhode Island for a regional qualifier for next summer, hope the roll keeps going.
Regional ASA qualifier for 2017 in Rhode Island. Girls played their hearts out and won the tournament. Earned a berth in the eastern regional in York PA next August. This team is unstoppable. Semi final game umps came over after it was done to congratulate the girls for the sportsmanship, attitudes and abilities. We have 1 more tournament this weekend playing up again. Hoping for the best. Record for 6 tournaments is 36-4. Won 4 placed 2nd in 1 and just had 1 bad weekend. The plan is to win #7 and end the season on a good note.
