    I also like silver maple for firewood. Love the way it looks underneath the bark. Also love the way it pops with the x27. Dries quick and is plentiful in my woods. I'm having 123 of them taken out soon. It is a bit of a nuisance in the woods, as it hogs all of the canopy. Gotta get to it quick once it hits the ground, though, as it rots quickly.

    Silver maple seasons quickly, I'df take that if its still up for grabs. The oak you have is going to be a couple years before it's ready, even when prepared like that.

    That's amazing... with the CRAZY prices of lumber nowadays, I'd thuink they utilize every last ounce of wood, including the saw dust for supercedars! ;)

    Cherry, if I remember correctly is always worth decent money due to foreign markets devouring it.
    It keeps prices high around me.
