I wanted to like your post Boomstick because it looks cool but I know how frustrating the winter was so I declined. Cool picture though! Lets hope its steep and deep for you this winter.
I'm a snow guy myself. And for the record I was on vacation last week, my grandfather unexpectedly passed away so instead of going anywhere, I ended up splitting and stacking that gigantic stack of locust rounds I have. A couple of more evenings and I'll be finished, then it's on to the almost 2 cord of hickory that needs split and stacked!! Here's some pics from the only snowy spell we had last winter......
Sorry to hear that Scotty, my last grandparent (grandpa, also) died on the 27th, so my wife and I went out to the funeral, and my Long Island family of uncles and aunts came down. Just got back today. Always tough.
Same goes for you Eric. Its hard to let go of a dear family member thats been around your entire life.
That was actually my first pike (out here in the Rockies its mostly trout). It looks kinda small but it was 26 inches. We drove east into Alberta to the flat country, thats why theres not the typical Sean mountain back drop. There was 19 inches of thick strong ice. Unfortunately we had a mild winter as well and this was one of my last days of ice fishing in early February. Im looking forward to going back this year and having my son catch a lunker instead of me!
Thanks, guys...... It was a tough loss, but he kept saying he was ready. Ever since my grandma passed 4 years ago he's been lost without her. He lived 89 great years, and passed away peacefully in his sleep.......I'm glad he didn't suffer. He was diagnosed with lung cancer just a few weeks ago.
