I went and picked up my fil and his trailer Sunday morning. We headed about 45 minutes south to his friends house (Don) who has been asking to get this wood out of his yard. He told me it was some black locust and I was excited. We got there and it was all set up for us in nice neat piles and limbed too. Locust and maple. Took us about 40 minutes to load up. After that Don showed us around his 6 acres that backed up to the Hudson River and he told us we can come pick wood when ever we want. He also said he was having a bunch more locust dropped so he can clear an area for a parking area. The 5-7 trees in the first couple pics. It was a good time and brought home a nice load but for the travel time invested I think I would rather go to my parents or hang out with Chopy the next time I get some firewood. But when he calls after he gets those locust on the ground I think I will make the trip again. Big thanks to Don for not wasting any good wood. It wasn't that hot yesterday either, got to about 88* but low humidity. To top the day off I picked up a husky 350 on the way home!
Yeah. I do. The piston is cherry, 2001 model, new muffler, cleaned up nice, starts and runs, but seams to need a little fuel delivery love. $20. That was the icing on my Sunday.
Wow, that's a tall wood shed. Friendly hint, check the intake clamp, and in fact just upgrade on the 350. Their big known weakness, don't know if it got fixed by 2001.
It's still the old style plastic one piece clamp. it looks good but that said I will put a metal clamp on it soon. It also doesn't have any burn marks on the case from muffler coming loose. Yeah he has twin towers. The front stack is around 10 ft.
