Good luck to everyone in the predicted storm areas. Check on your elderly and sick neighbors, and above all take care of those pets.

Meanwhile, my area, which is the middle of the dark green "Strongest T-Storms" on your map, another service is saying this for today (the straight portion of the blue is at 15% then it steps up to a total of 25% late tonight.

And our local TV station, which is a lot less reliable than my other source (IMHO), is saying this

And as usual, the source I use was a lot more accurate than the local TV channel. WE got nothing - not even any threats. A bit of a breeze did spring up, but the skies were clear. Concord hit the highest temp it has seen in 5 years at 97*. Very muggy too, although it did seem to get drier late afternoon.

I hope that whole rain system drops right into NE this evening. Vt and NH are getting it now it looks like. We need rain bad. 4 weeks without mowing the lawn now.

We got about 1/2" - it was more of a blowing severe storm than a rain event. I'll take anything we can get though. I went 3 weeks before mowing yesterday morning, and could have gone 4 except for a couple of small patches that are in naturally moist areas anyway. And the previous mowing was 3 weeks before that - 2 mowings in 6 weeks. Okay, I dislike grass, and could live without mowing, but that means my perennials and shrubs suffer when I can go that long without mowing.

We got spanked pretty good Wednesday night. Duluth & BWCA near basswood-snowbank area got the worst.

Been up in the b-dub on SAR since thursday. Two deaths up near the Canadian border, lots of lost and/or injured hikers.

Woods look like this, this was a pretty easy trail before the storm, tough going now.

We got pounded with storm after storm for about 4 hours. Strong winds, lightening, and some much needed rain here in central bucks county.

On the other hand, none of the areas I was in (Manch/Hillsboro) got anything but oppressive heat and humidity. I thought it would rain, but the clouds didn't want to give it up. Not a drop of water nor any wind.

Today they're calling for over half an inch of rain tonight for our area with possible severe weather with the east coast getting hit tomorrow.

We actually bought bottled water today because of some people in our town having problems with their wells.

The people that are having problems don't live on this street but if we don't get any long soaking rain, it could mean trouble.[IMG]

I hope you get your rain...... thanks for the heads up. Severe weather ain't no good when there's cloud to ground lightening and it's so dry.
