my friend devised this wood storage/moving method ,a simple wood frame with 2 pieces of steel cable in kerfs in the top to prevent splaying ,he moves them with forks on a small kubota DSCN0038.JPG DSCN0038.JPG DSCN0037.JPG DSCN0039.JPG

Pretty cool. I'd probably just use a little shrink wrap.

This is basically what I did, only the racks are not as wide, and the steel is plumbers tape instead of a cable.

It's a handy lil bugger for a homeowner/firewood hoarder...too small for somebody doing commercial firewood or something like that. I wanted something small, as garage space is at a premium here (I only have 2 garages ) and the price was right..(free from my dad...it was sans engine)
I thought I had posted all the details of my system here before...but all I could find was this...I guess I need to do a full write up. Mobile wood rack system for a wood burning boiler | Firewood Hoarders Club
Ever watch toddlers playing together? MINE! :p :D ;)

Very nice. How did you make the cables, or did you purchase them? If purchased, where from?

And I agree, the forklift is cooool.

Any method of CSS that reduces the times one needs to handle the wood is a good system IMO. Ditto on the love of the forklift.
