it was 52 this morning but that did not last long. Only got to 90 I think but very uncomfortable. Supposed to be hotter tomorrow. Not much of a cool down until next week. But this reminded me of something I saw lately. Actually only a week ago. No, I do not remember that day.
Stay cool, make sure the boss brings you plenty of nice cold berries. We were in the car most of the day (Judy had us running around looking at tractors for you) I guess she finally decided it would be ok for you to have one.
It was supposed to be hot here today, but the storms kept the temps down. Sounds like tomorrow we won't be so lucky. I'm heading for the north woods tomorrow afternoon and am hoping to leave the heat behind. Not sure how lucky I'll be. The hottest I remember here was in 2012 when it got to 104. How do I remember? That was the same day my central AC decided to conk out on me. Luckily I found a service company who was able to fix it the same day it broke.
What did I miss? We may be heading to the Finger Lakes for a day or two next week.......gonna be a hot one!!
We're also in the middle of a pretty severe drought here. They've only measured 1-2" in the past 2 months, and I think a lot of that actually missed my house.
I thought I was going to be able to outrun the heat by heading to the 'tip of the mitt', but I was wrong.
And a pretty big storm hit, especially in the western part of the UP. That cooled things but it heated right back up. For us, we got some sprinkles; just enough to wet the ground in a few spots. Rain moves toward us but peters out before it gets here.
Lots of storms north and south, but for us, sprinkles and lightning. Hard to say when one will hit. Just a ways from us, they were hit with winds that knocked out the poser for a couple days. Trees toppled over homes, cars, roads etc. In the mountain areas, two weeks ago they have roads wash out from 9 inches of rain. Dry here, but things are not dried up. There are not puddles and wet areas in the woods like normal. We have lots of lakes and rivers so wild animals have somewhere to drink, just not as it was normally. I worry about the hay harvest and the corn crops for animal food.
Storms and Rain has pretty much went north and south of here, dry as a bone right here where I'm at. I'm in the blue spot on the map there Hope the well don't go dry
Backwoods Savage , hopefully you get a nice rain today from the storm coming across Michigan but I won't count on us getting any of that tomorrow.
We've been having the same thing; rain to the North and South. The corn across the road is about 3' high and tasseling. The rows I can see have NO ears. It looks more like ornamental grass in the middle of winter. 97F yesterday. 80F right now at 9:45am. Going up to 94. Low to Mid 90's for the rest of the week.
