Anyone familiar with old Kelly Works hatchets? This was passed down to me from a family member and I know nothing about it. Any info would be appreciated. The only marks I see are: CHAMPION KELLY WORKS
Looks like a stout axe. It will definitely shine with a little touch up. Just remember to lower the included angle at the edge.
hahaha, I did a search as well but did not find yesteryeartools. Now just need to find a forum that deals with collectibles axes/hatchets/etc... Don't want strip and restore the head if it has more value as a wall hanger. I don't really need another hatchet and since it was from a family member I might keep it as it is anyway.
I agree. If it has age I leave it and put it up to display. I was at a antique market a few weeks ago. A dealer had a few plumb axe heads that someone took a sanding disk to and poorly sharpened them. I passed on them. I collect old iron tools and have a few new ones for use around the house.
