Saw an article that the brooks falls bear cam in katmai national park, Alaska was back up. Didn't know it was "down", but I checked it out at 8:45 this morning and it was beautiful. No bears yet, but the sun was coming up and the salmon jumping the falls is amazing! The site has links to many other wildlife cams worldwide. Brooks Falls - Katmai National Park, Alaska
Wow, thanks so much for sharing. There is a bear there now at the base of the falls. You can see the fish trying to make their way up over the falls.
Very cool link! Thanks for sharing. I just watched a bear wade up to the base of the falls, sit there a few minutes, catch a salmon and walk off. Pretty cool Here's another site for watching deer and other critters I check out from time to time, Live Deer Cam | Crush with Lee & Tiffany
Last August we did a bear adventure near Juneau. Flew in a little bush float/plane to an inlet. Saw lots of salmon, tracks, fur, remains of salmon in the woods, and poo ... but no bears...so disappointing. still a good time though! Great link, Boog! Thanks for sharing
Looked at the bear cam but they were not interested in fishing. There were more important things on their minds!!!! Right there in front of God and everyone.
Just watching a fairly large Grizz inhale 4 Salmon in about 8 minutes. Pure ole' eating machine.......................
Complete difference between yesterday morning and just now. There are no fish jumping at all versus 10 or so in the air at any moment yesterday morning?
Ya, Big difference today , not many fish jumping ,bears still catchin them though . Put in on full screen and my cat was watching it for a while
Very interesting discussion on there last night about why the cub preditation happens. Fantastic web site. My thanks also.
My wife was sitting out reading a cookbook and drinking tea up to camp at 9 am when she glanced to her right and saw a Black Bear five feet away looking at her yesterday. She screamed bear and ran in the camper, and the bear took off for the hills. The bear even left "peel out marks" in the pine needles. My response was, "what no pics". Yeah, that wasn't gonna happen.
