Maybe it's just regional differences in markets? That's merchanable wood laying in these pics. That hardwood he posted if 20" and a hard hrdwood would be worth around $20 around here as pulp wood . One tree not as big a deal, but if the while woods is like that and there 20 trees that size it adds up quick. I make my loggers pic anything up down to about 10" on the but to utilize.

Most of the wood in my picture, I took home and burned up long ago.
Yes the property owner was not happy,, loggers did a crappy job, but, free wood for me

I understand you used it. But think of how many dont. In most woods there is enough volume of tops to not even get it all before it rots, assuming a decent size job to begin with.

And yes sir, I know excactly what you mean.... There are farmers around here that will let huge piles of good useable wood rot or they burn it.... Now guys I understand liability to a "T".... But let me tell ya something the pics I just posted of my newest scrounge, I made up my own liability waiver and me and the homeowner agreed to it so we are both safe.... Now why in the hell won't these farmers do the same.... I would rather let someone who will use the wood come get it before I ever wasted it or burnt it up....

None before you farmers hate me, I know alot of the ol farmers around here, and a lot are great with the few firewood guys still around (alot of the people around me to damm lazy to work let alone do extra work after a 40 hour a week job).... But I think it's pitiful to see the wood they waste, rant over sorry!!!!!!!!'

This tree was a real pain when we got it down, as soon a about as it hit the ground the skys opened up and it was one heck of a rain storm! How it fell made it quite hard to cut it into log lengths. We ended up having 3 saws stuck at one time. Needless to say they ended ip being short logs till we got all the saws unstuck.
