I put a small Ashley stove in one years back. Used firebricks under it on the floor and made a metal heat shield to go behind it and on the sides. Not the best solution but it worked safely for years till I eventually sold it.
Look at marine stoves. They put those things in boats all the time. Amazing the small spaces they put them in. Maybe some ideas for you. Chief
