I was strictly talking about social security. No hidden ethonol references there.

Yes, said flex fuel vehicles are designed to be able to compensate for anything from 0% ethanol all the way up to 85%. On the fly, nowork on the driver's part.

You could set your blazer upo to run pure ethanol. But it's analog, not digital and a Lot of work.

Yea I know flex vehicles can return on the fly and that I could set up the k10 for e85 but with that thing I can't just run one tank e85 and back to 10 etc. Have to have it one way or other. I don't run enough fuel through that thing to matter. The ethonol would soak up so much water sitting there!

The highest I see around me within like 35 miles is E free to its VP racing fuel. 104 octane maybe? But I think it's like $6 to 9 a gallon or something!!! I'll have to look next time through.

And burn it just fine, I've had a car sit with e85 for 5 years fire up and run great.
It's cool showing off giving your car a drink of your favorite drink.

As a kid all the old guys used to add ethanol or dry gas just to get something running, now it's scary bad stuff.

There's a lot of info out there about precisely what's "bad" about it. Ethanol attracts moisture from the air, and water in your fuel system is bad. The shelf life of E10 gas is approximately 3 months. That's why you wont find any ethanol in canned fuels.

If anyone is around ECI and interested, the Randolph County Airport has ethanol free 91 octane at 3.14 per gallon, or 3.00 even if you pay cash.

Canned fuels? Such as race gas?

Maybe since you know so much about it you could do a compare and contrast between regular fuel and e10

I actually did post a link to Stihl USA gasoline guidelines, and plagiarized one of the factoids I found there. You can use it, but don't leave it in your saw too long. You'll have to read about the rest yourself - I'm not going to read it out loud for you.

I was just saying we beat thus horse every year or so.

Im pretty sure every airport sells NO E gas. I am pretty sure it's against FFA regs to have ethonol in aviation fuel. Could be wrong on last part but think I read that. The real question is do they sell to the off the street public?

It would probobly be illegal or fear of legal ramifications as most av gas is leaded(to raise octane).
It could also coat parts you don't want coated with lead wich was one of its original purpose's.
A modern car won't like it either as it coats o2s and kills them, clogs cats.
But I'm an e10 guy don't take my word for it. :dex:
