We've been using the Keyhole pit quite a bit since the beginning of the month, this coming weekend being the big one....but man I had a hankering for some ranch burgers...... Also minced up some pepperochini peppers and mixed them in.... Cooked over Applewood splits! Smoke phase.......wow does it smell good!! Browning phase..... Char phase!! So who wants the recipe??
Ok, its nothing fancy....... 3.5lbs of 85/90 burger 2 packets Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning 2 eggs 1c minced pepperochini 2 tbsp A-1 steak sauce Make sure you soak the juice from the pepperochini before you mince them. The eggs act as a binder, without the egg, they crumble apart... Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl, size them to your liking. I try to name mine 1/3lbs each, I like big, juicy burgers. And, whatever you do, DO NOT squish the juices from them when cooking!!!!! Just flip/brown/repeat until they are done.
Genius does not need to make a keyhole pit. Genius does not need to make a keyhole pit. Genius does not need to make a keyhole pit. Genius does not need to make a keyhole pit. Genius's dr is mad at him and says he needs to loose 10-20 pounds...... Genius does not need to make a keyhole pit.
Hahaha...thats the kids' playhouse/tube slide in the background......it's around 25' behind the keyhole pit
Scotty, made some of those burgers to your recipe specs today. They are great! Grandkids are coming over and wanted to make them in advance. Cooked the one odd one on the gas grill a few minutes ago. The wife and I split it cause we just had lunch before making them. Mrs. Al gives her approval too. Will take pics tomorrow.
