Spiders like to build nests in the burner air tube, I found one in the 200a I just cleaned up yesterday, it would be the first thing to check for.....
That's a darn nice look'n 228E....., I hope to score this clean, with box 228F this afternoon........
Here's a recent pic of my now very modest collection, I do have a few more that aren't in this pic, and I'm still in the process of making my shelving for the lanterns I currently own......
They look to be some very nice lanterns you have there, old 040,,most of the lanterns I find are beaters but I really enjoy my time at the workbench going thru one. I have more than a few that probably should have been a "parts" lantern but can't help but tear 'em down and get them running again.
I did keep a well used 200a and a well used 220E for out in the ruff, these others are great runners, but are more fun just to look at!.....
Here's a couple of my camp stove set ups, I found the NOS Primus stand and two cast iron griddles dirt cheap last year, the stand really comes in handy and is easy to pack/fold up.............
Came across this Sears/Coleman yesterday, this is one I may restore, they look really nice when done, it's the first Sears labeled one I've come across and it was cheap, also found a pretty nice 220F as a user, and a NOS "le Grillon" french made camp stove for five bucks, thought it looked kinda cool, so it came home with me also........
I'm really liking the adjustable lanterns a lot, from what I can tell, the CL1, CL2, and the CLX were the first adustables by Coleman, it really is nice to lower the light level on these, I won't just pass by these anymore, they seam to sell well on the bay I've noticed as well, still want to find a nice clean CL1 and CL2.......
Had my chance at owning this harder to find maroon colored single burner, price was a little higher than I wanted to go, but since I let this one go, all others I've seen like it have sold for far more than I could have had this one, guess I should have jumped on it, oh well......
Hmmm.........looks pretty darn familiar to me!.......nice to see it up and doing what it was made to do!!.......Where's the camp?, looks nice there.......
No pics but have scored a couple run down, beat up and clapped out project lanterns that I'll fool with later. I found one for a quarter,,yep, 25 cents that will need a new tank, it's an older 220 with a nice vent. Old40, I really like that "CL" with picket fence globe,,I've got one that's a single burner,,don't see those around every day.
Lake Hiawatha campground in Sykeston ND. I love the way the pickets on the globe soften the light around the campsite so I'm not blinding other campers.
Well 4th of July weekend is always my big weekend for some of the bigger flea markets that I try to get to every year, though the weather wasn't the nicest, I stuck it out and came home today with some pretty nice scores, may head back again tomorrow......today's take is a NOS 228E, A nice clean 220E, A nice nickel 228B with a very nice block letter globe, a ratty green 200a and a red 200a, one fuel can, and a $2.00 426 three burner stove that should be a challenge when the times right, also a cool "Truckers stay out!" sign, nice and clean as well, pretty happy with my grabs today, all were very good prices as well, anyway here's some pics........
All nice scores,,esp: that nickel 228 and 3 burner,,I have never laid eyes on either one around here. (well my buddy found a 228 with virtually no nickel left,,,I was glad he picked it up for me)
