Any way to put a tunable carb on a 661?

I am going to buy a new ms661 because I haven't been able to locate a good 660. I heard good and bad about the auto tune carb system. Does anyone out there know if there is a way to put a regular tunable carb on it if I end up having to much trouble with the auto tune one? Or is the ignition and electronics all tied together and won't allow this?
Any ideas on the issue?

I think you'll like the m ironic I was skeptical of getting my 562 XP with auto tune but I really like it. That being said the engine is just an air pump it doesn't know or care how it's getting the air fuel mixture and the ignition should be simple enough to swap out. I'm certain if it came down to it it could be done. After all it's only money.

 

The wj-69 is a direct swap on a 661. You just need to disconnect the solenoids from the 661 carb and leave them attached to the saw. Then it's just a matter or swapping carbs.

With the stock coil and 660 carb Rpms north of 14.6k are attainable. Not sure how that's not winning.

 

I have sent a 661 no mtronic coil to a friend in usa , maybe its the first non mtronic coil in the US , he concendrate much more to the coil than to the carb , for making all theese modifications

 

Thanks for the info. I just like the ability to be able to adjust the carb manually if need be. I didn't plan on changing it out as soon as I bought it, but if anything ever happened to the system I figured it would probably be cheaper and more simple just to put on a regular carb. Then I wouldn't have to worry about going to the dealer and having them program it with a laptop (this is what the dealer told me) if I have any issues.

 

The laptop and the MDG1 CAN NOT control or repair or retune the carb , its only a tool for information its just tell you if have any problem in all theese electronics

for see if the mtronics have problem you just need a multimeter and a cable that cost 15 dollars and a 9 volt battery

 

Dunno what you've got planned for yours, but Ive been pretty happy with mine. I've put a few hard working hours on mine; it loves it. Auto tune is great.

 

They think it was done on ope first. It was not. But you knew that. Lol

Yeah, pilots seem to love manual mixture and propeller controls as well, because they somehow believe that they are better at controlling it than a FADEC. They are wrong, of course.

 

Of course that rotational speed is unloaded. IOW, total wheelspin, doing zero useful work. Winning what, where?

 

Guy on facebook was the first I heard last year. I don't know for sure who really was first. I do know the euro coil has a lot more advance than the mtronic coils.

 

They're holding higher rpm in the cut as well, but I figured that was inferred.
