I took a few trees down knee the last few days. First one was a difficult maple that was storm damaged. A silver maple with two main trunks. One leaning into the yard and the other over the house. The storm took out the one leaning over the yard and fortunately the one leaning over the house stayed up. The base was rotten so it needed to come down. Only problems as all the top was over the house so removal was a little slow. A lift did the trick though and we got it down safely.

Then I removed a decent sized cedar that was next to a pool. I friggin dropped my saw though and it ended up in the pool....... So I took a little swim to retrieve my saw. As good as it felt to jump in I wasn't happy that the saw took a dive.

You trained your saw to do high diving into small pools?

Hopefully it wasn't a saltwater pool.

Was it running when it fell or was it stopped? I'm assuming you drained all the water and got her running again, right?

I was standing on the ground and set it down behind me to reach up and grab the branch I just cut. I guess I set it right on the edge of the step and it rolled down and over a few feet to the pool. So it didnt drop far, just rolled perfectly to land in the pool.

Looks like that was a tough job Sean. Glad you got it down good but sorry about the saw. I doubt the saw was hurt and it will live another day.

Im just glad it was after the big tree was done. The saw I dropped was my Stihl 192 top handle, thats the saw I use to do all the work in the bucket. Really fortunate I got the big job done before taking the saw for a swim.
