I have a friend looking to get into a 60 or 70cc pro saw. I personally think he needs a 70cc. His only saw now is a 45cc rancher (I think) and that makes a good 2 saw plan IMO.

He's internet challenged so I'm posting on his behalf. Budget including shipping needs to be under $600 max, and closer to 500 the better.

He would prefer a stihl. Bar and chains are negotiable. Shipping to 46060. Whose got one to come off?

If you don't find something quicker, I'm waiting on a few parts for a 10mm 044. It'll probably be a couple of weeks before I could get that together. I also have a clean 034 with an 036 top end, that needs only minor buttoning up.

Just FYI, that budget buys a new Dolmar 6100/6400. But then again, anything you get from Jon is bound to run like new. ;)

That 260 runs extra crisp. Too bad she's got that tick. I'm thinking piston slap after I yanked the top end apart. We'll know here in a couple weeks when I get back 'round to it.

I was really happy with how it ran, too. Piston slap was my first thought about the tick, but I found no meaningful wear on the piston.

Hard to measure such things with certainty but there are a couple visual cues and it visibly rocks in the bore. I really want to capture it on video if I can and do a thread.

bocefus78, apologies for the hijack. Enjoy the thread bumps!

I'll certainly be interested. I checked the piston with dial calipers and it was virtually identical to a new OEM piston.

I'd be looking for an MS361. This saw is darn near perfect. It is reasonably light and nimble, but can do just about anything when called on. No, it's not as powerful as a 70 or 90 cc. saw. I know, it's not a big step up from a 455 in pure cc.'s, but it is a major step up in performance.
