    Seriously...

Im currently living in fear of my own life.

This all started Wednesday the 15th...
Me and a friend were next door at the house that burnt, i was being nice and mowed the grass over there.
While we stood there a young dark skin kid pulls up in front of my neighbors house. This is the guy directly across from me, he was in the news story that aired on TV.

So this kid pulls up in this newer white colored Kia 4 door sedan.
The kid gets out and messes around in the back seat area for awhile, awhile being like 15 minutes.
He shuts the door, locks the car and then walks a half a block down the street, stops in his tracks, turns
around and starts walking back in the direction he came from.
Eventually he passes right by my friend and i.. I think nothing of it other then where is this kid from
and why is he parking this car here.

I see this kid often, i see him atleast 4 times a week walking or riding a bicycle.
    He's 14-17 years old i would guess.

10 minutes later, Jeff the neighbor across the street comes home. Hollars at me "Whos car is this?!"
I tell him i dont know but i told him a kid just parked it and walked thata way.
So he gets in his truck and tries to find him, no luck.
The next day, the neighbor calls the cops and tells them he wants this car gone from the front of his house.

Im at work, my fiance alerts me about the cop being there yada yada yada.
I come home for lunch and talk to the officer. I explain to him what i saw, he explains to me that the
car is stolen and to contact the police if i see the kid again. I say alright, great, i'll keep my eyes open for him.

The very next day at roughly the same time in the evening, im next door again. This time talking to the
homeowner's brother. Same house that burnt... Ive already told him about the car and how i am keeping
my eye out for this kid.. Here comes the kid on his bicycle.
He gets about a house away, i tell the brother thats him, i gotta go.
I jump in my truck, dial 911 and eventually catch up to the kid down the street, im in my truck.
He takes me to his house! Its literally a city block away!

I turn around, go back home, im still on the phone with medcad.
We exchange info, i tell them the details, i tell them to send a cop to such and such location and i'll meet them there and i can show them where this kid lives.
I get a call back from a sargent, they dont have anyone available to send out.
So thats that, no follow up, no nothing. Im guessing no action was taken.

Fast forward to about 2 days ago.
A silver ford fusion pops up next door in front of the neighbors house next to me.
That house is for sale and is empty, when i first noticed it, i figured it was the home owners visiting the
    property, they live in wisconsin.
Car sat for a day, it was moved over night and was parked in a different location but still street side and in front of the neighbors house.

This morning i wake up, walk into our spare bedroom and plop down at my computer.
I sit directly next to a window while im at my computer, i peal open the blinds and there are literally... 14 cops in my front yard. It looked like a convention or a homicide scene...
So i jump up and shoot out the front door. I am immediately approached by 6 of them.
They immediatly start questioning me about the vehicles parked in front of the neighbors house.
Notice i type vehicle with an "s" after it.. There is now the silver ford fusion which has been there the past 2 or so days, and directly in front of it is a new 4 door silverado, brown in color.

When the kia showed up, it was driven sometime wednesday night/thursday morning.
My neighbor across the street, where the kia was parked at, he woke up around 4am and said the car was gone. The car was back in roughly the same spot 2 1/2 hours later when he woke up to go to work at 630.
This time, the parking lights were left on.

The ford fusion this morning had its parking lights left on as well..
The keys to the silverado were sitting in the cup holder of the ford fusion.

    Want some more wild details?

A Ruger .22 caliber pistol was recovered from the fusion along with 3 loaded magazines.

This morning, the truck was in front of the neighbors house that is for sale and the ford was behind it but in front of my house.

So here we go.. Fast forward a few hours.
We take my Dad out to eat, we all come back to our place because he wants to see the puppies.
Im at my computer, Dad and Rachel are watching the NBA game... The door bell goes off.
Rachel peals back to curtain and its a young black kid, no shirt with a back pack.
I run to the door, open it.... He starts asking me if i knew anything about where the silver car went
that was parked out front. He claims it was his, he claims he parked it there because it wouldnt fit in
his drive way. I asked him where he lived and he says "oh just around the corner" and i told him
well maybe you should park your own car in front of your own house.

The kid looks 14 years old, he's about 5'6. dark dark, very dark skinned and just had that "nothing but trouble" look... I told him i didnt know a thing and had been gone all day. He says alright thanks and takes off.

I thought there was only 1 of them...
I literally run to my desk in the other room and grab my phone. I call 911
Rachel jumps up and peaks her head out the window, she comes back in and tells me
there are 2 young black kids now.
1 was literally hiding behind the very large sycamore tree in my front yard..
I get medcad on the phone, im upset. i tell them i need officers to the area right away.

I go outside and jump in my truck, this kids are over 2 blocks away already.
Medcad says they have officers in route. I hang up my phone and slowly circle about 4 blocks
    in the neighborhood.

I eventually head back where i came from, this time i have my cell phone on my dash set up as
    a dash cam.
I go around a curve and these 2 kids are peaking in the windows of a chrysler pt cruiser.
I round the curve and they immediatly back away and get back on the street side, out of the driveway.
I cruise back to my house, i call medcad again and explain to them the situation that i just encountered
while driving. I explain to them that they better get someone here quick as i am on the edge of turning
my 3/4 ton truck into a human steam roller.

Like that 4 cop cars show up.

And just like that these 2 kids vanish.

    So here's where im at...
3 vehicles get recovered within 80' of my house since Wednesday the 15th..
One of the vehicles has a loaded .22 caliber pistol recovered from it, basically in my front yard.
a few hours later 2 blacks show up to my house asking about said vehicle with the gun in it, well
1 kid asked and the other is hiding behind a tree.

This tells me that this kid standing in front of me, can be potentially armed right now and im standing 4' from him. He is definitely involved in these grand theft's going on and he is standing right in front of me!

Now.... I feel like im going to be potentially targeted for gang related activity.
Im talking drive by type stuff..

I was pretty upset. i told the cop that they better make sure they have units in the area for awhile.
Im not talking the next few minutes, im talking the next few months.
I explained to him that if i get another visitor, i dont believe the cops will be here soon enough..

    End of story.
I have to work in the morning, i have the police scanner going.
Our vehicles are locked, All of our doors to our home and the garage are locked down.
Ive got all of my exterior lighting turned on.

I dont own a firearm, my Dad however owns quite a few..

Somewhat luckily, we live in a rental and have a cool landlord.
Im going to touch base with him tomorrow and alert him that we no longer feel
safe living here and are planning on moving.

I have roughly 12 cords of wood in the backyard to move to my Dad's a half hour away.

    Upset
    Twin city living
    Possible gang activity
    Scared for my life.

Just me, I would be at your father's house. Even if you had an armory there is no defense for irrational, wet behind the ears, brainless, illogical thinking kids involved in criminal activity. They can't think for themselves only react. Wood and unfortunate expenses can be replaced.

I don't know what your work situation is but would be in contact with HR requesting an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) consult. Just in case it takes some time for you to relocate, documentation in place may help protect your job. They may also have some kind of helpful resources. Let other people do some work for you when you have to focus on you and your family.

    Be careful and stay safe.

You need to get out of there. Nothing good can come from this situation.

Dad needs to gift you a firearm pronto, or go get one yourself.

    Stay alert, vigilant, and prepared.

Hopefully the fuzz can get some prints and pick this street trash up. If they are juvies, they will more than likely be slapped on the wrist unless they can charge them as an adult. Felony car theft is no joke.

Be safe brother. No woodstack or ANY tangible item is as important as the safety of your family. Do whatever is necessary to ensure theirs and your safety.

    Wow. That's scary.

Do yourself a favor, get a firearm and learn how to use it. By learning how to use it I don't mean going to a range and putting holes in paper. Sign up for a few classes that specialize in the platform of weapon you decide to buy, wether that be a handgun, carbine or shotgun.

Look into a 2-3 day tac class.

Well, we are all still alive after night #1..

Im thinking about buying some cameras.

We cant move to my Dad's, the living situation isnt healthy at all and i just wont put
my fiance or my dogs through that. He lives with my grandma and she's a hoarder.

Anyways, i stayed up until about 1am and literally camped out in my living room in the darkness.
I was waiting on one of my motion detection lights to pop on and then i had planned on "popping out"
if you know what i mean.

I'll be grabbing some "equipment" from my Dad's after work today and placing a few "pieces"
in easy to find places around the entire of our home.

That is all i really have planned for now.
Still calling the landlord today, ive found a place to move to which is actually in a neighboring town
    about 20 minutes away.

So im going to look into that, also explain to them the situation and hopefully get some help..

Its time to go to work..

Keep the "pieces" secure in case the thugs come in your place. Any safe needs to be bolted down. IMO, just get a holster and keep it on you. Then you wont need them in every room and it will ALWAYS be within reach.

And this next part is coming from a guy who just had an uninvited visitor in the middle of the night: pics of your assailant from your cams won't do chit when you are dead. Get an alarm. Both alarm and cams would be best, but go alarm first if you have to decide between the 2.

In the time it would of taken ME to type that story, I would of been relocated already.

So sorry to read about this situation. It is not good at all and we'll be praying that you come out of this okay.

One day you are the hero and the next you are the hunted. That is definitely not a good neighborhood to be in. I hope you find that other place is good to move in to! Just be sure when you move that somebody is not following you to find you new home. It might even be good if you can get a new license plate with a new number.

I fully agree with others on getting some self protection. Learn how to use it right and keep it handy! Be sure to keep extra ammo on hand too.

What the heck is this world coming to? Kids with absolutely no fear of any recriminations or of getting caught. What they will be like as adults makes one shudder.o_O

Just to the north of you, In the Milwaukee area, these under age car thefts are getting out of hand. I'm sure they are worse in Chicago, but this is ridiculous.

I can't like it, I feel sorry for those of you that have to put up with it. Even here in a rural state the heroin epidemic is widespread. And with that comes the surge of break ins, and bank/small store robberies. How this all plays out, God only knows. But I fear a large segment of the younger generation is just taking and doing whatever they want.:loco:

At this point moving sounds like a very good idea. You're on the radar of some kids who are making bad choices and dumb enough to regularly park stolen vehicles in the same place, and you've made it clear to them that you're not just an oblivious bystander. For sure, this can't be a fun circumstance, and you have my sympathy.

BUT, PLEASE, can we not do this "dark dark, very dark skinned and just had that "nothing but trouble" look..." kind of thing? Whatever you can deduce about these guys, you aren't learning it from their skin color.

Quit acting so scared that's one of the easiest ways to become a victim if they're really bad enough to do you harm they'll see that and exploit it. Walk around with some confidence and be aware of what's going on around you that's a huge detergent to not getting messed with.

Quit following them around, they'll catch up on that eventually and you'll regret it. You know what they look like and where they live. If you see them just be cool calm and collected and when they're gone work your way to calling the cops.

Everybody needs a gun and needs to learn how to use it. They also need to understand that you don't go grab your gun and follow these guys because if something happens there's a good chance you're going to jail. Let the cops do the work.

    Short and simple update.

All has been well so far.
The very next day i was a bit more at ease and relaxed.
by now, i have pretty much been living my normal life again.
