Happy Father's Day! (Yes there is fw pics)

As the title says, happy Father's Day to all you fathers! I spent most of my day with my 2.5 yr old son finishing stacking everything that I have split. The other part was spent trying to explain to my BIL's why I have so much firewood . I just don't understand what is so difficult to comprehend?

I digress, me thinks I'm finally to the point where I can say I'm 3 years ahead!I would be a solid 4 years if I hadn't given my in laws 5 cord but Im tired of cleaning my FIL's chimney 4 times a burning season. He gets 5 cord delivered every September from the Amish and it is usually an oak/hickory mix which had been split in the early spring and heaped in a pile until delivered in the fall. I promised him that I would give him all his wood for this year if he promised to still get his normal load from "yoder"and stack it till 17-18. So I gave him a bunch of dead standing beetle kill ash that was in the 15% range and a cord of bone dry locust. Anyway, enough about that. Here's my current hoard pics.

 

I guess they don't call you Splitsnstacks for nothin! Great looking splits and stacks!

Fantastic picture. Cute young man there! Lots of neat wood stacks. You should be warm for a very long time. I noticed the wind mills in one of your pictures. How far from your home are they. Do you hear them? Is there anything about them you like or dislike?

   What a spectacular day. Warm, sun shinning, I got some things done. But best of all, a memorable family gathering
   

 

In the valley I live in there a total of 50 of them, the ones in the picture are about 1.5 miles away I'd say. Nope you can't hear them at all. I'm just going to say that I'm neutral on the like/dislike question. We don't benefit from them at all, all of the power goes to DC and Baltimore. County wide we have a few hundred of them scattered on our ridge tops, same thing with all of em.

Thanks. That support what I thought. You see, we have a lot of activity around here with the windmills. Many don't want them because they say they spoil the view. Others say they kill wildlife and, yet other say they can't stand the noise. We don't benefit from the power either. Me, I see them like any other power project, road or antenna.

Thanks, BW! He is a big help, he picks up all the loose bark and throws it into the wheelbarrow. When the wheel barrow gets near full, he yells "daddy go" which I automatically know he needs me to go dump it into the fire pit. He would spend all day everyday helping me with firewood if he had the choice, which I wouldn't have it any other way!
