Yes happy Father's day everyone! It just so happens to be William's first birthday today too.

We were in the boat all day yesterday. Lots of swimming and it was hot. Same again today, we'll be out the door by 9:45 and on the water at 10:30.

We left the boat hooked up to the 4runner to simplify things.

It wasnt lazy cops, more like 4 vs 600. Once they got 2 other local PDs to help, it was about 1.5 hours to complete shutdown. Looks like a frat party on our street.

I gave the cops several suggestions, sobriety checkpoint, tow trucks, etc. They offered to deputize me, not sure if it was for real. Just absolute BS.

So as a west coaster, I am not sure what I am looking at. A potential tornado front? Here that would be a squall with high winds, rain and downwash winds and then it would be over.

No tornado with this one. It came from the north and tornadoes from the north are very rare. Just lots of straight line wind. Nasty on the open prairie. :)

Lots of trees down and some roofs damaged. The church lost some big pine branches and my mother lost most of her apple tree (landed partly on the power service lines).

Mid 90s and uber humid (like my technical terms?) today, but Doug (front) and Maddie were ready to start cutting, so who was I too stop them.? :)

Here's the stash we got from the broken apple tree branches at mom's.

Here is what the apple tree looks like now.

I wonder if she will notice? :)

Here is what I got in for trade of a little...ok a lot of sweat. :)

A piece of pine from taking care of the church branches, some flowering crab for cleaning up at the museum and a nice chunk of apple with more to come when I take the rest of mom's tree down.

The good thing about working hard for wood like this is that I think the fire feels a little warmer when it's burning. :)

Time to relax a bit. A good meal with family at noon today. A little work in the morning and late afternoon/evening, and a little  in the air conditioning when it was 87° in the middle of the afternoon. All and all a good day. Now watching four young ones while they watch a movie.

Busy music week... one of the guys just called and his honey can't go to the Journey/Doobie Brothers/Dave Mason outdoor concert in Bangor Weds night... soooo  (can't wait)... then, around 11 AM Thursday, the guys show up here to play for 3-4 hours. It's gonna be a great :coffee::coffee::coffee: couple a days.

Got up for our walk this morning and I just caught this picture before the moon disappeared behind the hill. Awesome clear morning with the fog just showing up now.

Hard to say, some apple splits real nice and straight. Other times, not so much.
