Just driving home, minding my own business. I have a long drive home from work lately. I've noted several scores along my 80 mile commute, but I'm short on space living in the suburbs. I just pass them by. So, I'm a mile from home and a tree crew is cutting a large oak on the side of the road. This was just too good. I stopped and asked for the wood. They said it was going to the dumps, sure take all you want. They even cut the rounds in half for me for me to lighten them up. A little over a cord of valley oak brought home in about an hour. Four pick up loads of heavy, wet oak rounds. Score! I've got '16, '17, and '18 already dried,6 cord, burning about 1-1/2 a year
This should be ready to heat my house in 2019 if I don't sell it first.

I was tired after the 80 mile commute never mind the 4 loads of oak.

    Good score indeed.

Valley oak is a new one on me. I'd have got that too! Nice work.

I guess your referring to the commute? Sure, it sucks. I'm a tradesman. gotta go where the work is. For what they pay me, I don't have much to complain about.

Nope. Just implying a "You Suck" for having such a sweet deal come to you as a "drive-by". Looks like serious blind luck. Hope it works out, or did.

Nice score, Mr A!! I used to commute 120mi each way back in the day, did it for almost 9 months and man did it suck. But to break the monotony, I'd pick different routes to change up the scenery.....

I agree on the case o' beer.....those guys may even deliver a load or two if you start treating them like that!! ;)
