Get a couple of those Wood Peckers working here and I could dry those chips and sell them for kindling. I think that bird is drunk, who left the beer outside?
Those Pileated Woodpeckers were rare around here when I was kid, I remember the first one I ever saw. Deep in the big woods, now thankfully they're quite common we see them around the house every now and then. Quite impressive!!!!!!!
They have been common in some areas of this state but we got them here only a few years ago. Perhaps they came in when the ash borers came? If so, I hope they eat their fill. We don't see them too often but hear them quite often. They can be noisy but they are a pretty bird.
spent time trying to get a good pic of a woodpecker some time ago. just couldn't get very close. they are beautiful birds
