I've been hoping this would come down because it was rotten near the main trunk, I hope to have this done in two weeks. Picture 0154 is a small Cherry.
Better get at it, almost getting too warm to be fooling around out there with wood, at least to my liking.
Planning anything this summer went out the door last week, this wood stuff will take a back seat. It will get warm but if I do get time, I'll work it early until noon.
For sure take your time on that one Zap. Looks like it needed to come down. Perhaps nature just doesn't want you to be cutting the trees down so knocks them all down for you!
We want to but I have a family member in the hospital, so until we find out exactly what's going on or how/if they can treat it, the boat will stay dry docked. It could be cancer or it might not be cancer, they can't do a biopsy to confirm anything because of certain other issues going on. They found nodes in the lung and a spot on the liver.
Yes it is HDRock , we'll lose some of it where it broke off (punky) but the rest of it is good, more inventory is always good.
We're running out of downed stuff so the wind gods supplied us with some nice btus. I will try to make time for this since it's across the trail.
Do you think nature is telling me something about trying to fell trees. Backwoods Savage , you tell Judy I'm close enough to give her a big ole hug, but only for a homemade pie.
Its a good time for a break from the woods! Dam deer fly are all over the place here. I wish the best for your family member. They will be in our thoughts and prayers.
One of my first summers cutting they got me pretty bad but the amount of Sugar Maple I cut was worth every drop of blood lost to those nasty things.
