I did that last year , and it worked fine no rust , but the ash was more cake like from the humidity a little extra scraping to get it all off , no biggie .

Nice and cool here today also JT - good tree cutting weather.

Cleared several small ( 20-40' ) trees / limbed & stacked them, so I can drop the (2) larger trees in their path tomorrow.

One was a 'canopy' tree directly behind the (2) suspects blocking Sat. 101 East, started to get some weak signal strength on the receiver, so I'm hoping I am on the right track.. Using the SatFinder app. on the cell phone, and verified bearing w/ a traditional compass, to avoid cutting every tree down on the property..

Unused wood-cutting muscles are crying for Ibuprofen at the moment. :picard:

41* outside this morning, low 60's in the house (I had a few windows cracked). Ran the P43 for a short cycle while I took a shower so the bathroom was warm. The hopper is almost empty. May have to try some of those cr*ppy ThermaGlo's in the P43 - I got a bunch left in the cellar dweller and I won't be running it but maybe once again just to make sure it is dry before plugging up the OAK and exhaust for the summer.

stove has been off a couple weeks and cleaned. My wife was in Washington State visiting her mother for the last week, so i turned lots of 'honey do's' into 'honey done's'. along the way i cleaned the stove and the chimney / fine box. unplugged the stove. i'll get some damp rid, but it wasn't an issue last year.

grilled a couple bergers :grizz:and and had a:cheers: or :beerbbq:
pretty much repeated all week :D ran out of bergers! did not run out of the green salad she made me:confused: life was good, but I'm glad she's home:thumbs:

We had pretty good winds too, but my thermometer doesn't have wind speed and it is in a fairly sheltered place anyway. Since I leave before the local news comes on the air to tell me all that info (they come on at 5 AM), I just report "real" temp.

They're still blowing here , my cable company gives us a separate weather channel that all it does is 24 7 local conditions , which is nice no talking heads , just the info and music .

Yeah, winds are still blowing here too. P43 ran several times last night to keep it at 69* on my main floor. I slept like a rock with the sound of those fans going - I know I'm strange that I miss them.

Winds were really cranking in New England yesterday....I'm told my dock at my place in Maine is in pieces. Heading up that way shortly. It's always something....

    Ouch !!!

Came home last night to a few large branches across the driveway and a medium tree that cam down beside the house. No damage though......

Really had to think about riding into work this morning - I did, but was extra carefull about staying alert for branches blown down. Thankfully the only thing in the road was a small porcupine - he made it to the other side alive.

And made it to the other side of the road without the "helpers" running out there to it's aid!!

Here it is the 14th of June and we have had 100 F days and dry and now its stove time again with snow in the mt's

Was 63 F in the house this morning and I tossed a fire in the big Whit.

With the living room upside down during the remodel the Big Whit in the family room is far easier to run (Stuff piled up everywhere in the living room)

Going to be cool and wet all week the weather folks say.

Likely will warm up later today if we get some breaks in the clouds.

Even the cat was snuggled in tight under the covers this morning

    Strange weather for sure.

Normally we are done with stoves by now.

Stove has been on every night. Yesterday it was so dark out that it was colder inside than outside (and it was only 69* outside).
