    For a cheap reliable used saw, $50-100, my go to saw for years is a Craftsman 3.3/ Poulan 3300. It is not the typical Craftsman clam shell chainsaw and will run right beside any other saw in that cc class and is lighter. HighCountry I do not know what part of N M you live but there is a really nice Poulan Pro 330 on Craigs out that way that would already be in my garage...

    For those of you following on this thread. Wasn't able to bring them down too much, but $300 out the door was more than fair. They had a little bit of an edge in the negotiations, as this was THE LAST ONE!! Luckily, for me, it is in great condition. There was a run on the others this morning, so I was lucky to get this one. We started it up, sounds great. Compression on the pull rope felt good. I don't have a compression tester, so I did what I could. I also had them remove the muffler and I looked at the piston. No signs of wear, or misuse. These were just the two pics I snapped outside the store. More to come when I get home. Probably a video, as well, since I will have to field test it immediately! :rootintootin:

    The only cosmetic damage I can see is the number they put on top of the case. We must not have many lumbersexuals around here. Plenty of hipsters, but none into BTUs, I guess!

    Yea they probably rent it to clean up the one tree in their metro suburbanite yard. Probably some use it 15 mins and some can't even start it, get frustrated, return it and call the tree guy!

    I am guessing that HD had to replace one of the dogs when a hipster got his hair caught in one!!

    Yea see that's what I'm talking about. Had to be something like that cause I know they didn't catch it on their tight girl jeans or their prison shoes!

    Congrats HighCountry :thumbs:
    Looks great :saw::saw:
    That was cool they pulled the muffler for you, I noticed the dog was different.
    Do you have the right size file or whatever for sharpening the chain?

    The guy at HD was not happy that I asked to pull the muffler. I thought that was going to be a bad sign, but it just turned out that he did not want to. It took him quite a while, as well, but I am confident that with a little practice I will get it done quicker. I have not identified the chain yet, as I had to get back to work, but I will look it over tonight and try it out. I will, most likely be getting another chain for it, and will make sure that I have the correct sharpening setup. Thanks for reminding me!

    Both. I think this new saw may be too much for my Bonsai collection in my garage, though.

    What kind of screws does a muffler have, Allen head, torx or?
