I made a quick video comparing these two 60cc saws. This video wasn't made to start the which saw is better argument. To me however, it does show just how good of a value the Echo can be, especially after you open up the muffler a little.
Great video Andyshine77 I love how our members go to such lengths to demonstrate these kinds of things in an unbiased way. Awesome.
I dont say no in brands that offer good quality for reasonably price , No stihl or husky fanatic here
The power difference is audible. But you sure can feel the difference in your wallet too. I'm assuming that 562xp is bone stock?
For someone that he use the saw 5- 6 times a year for collecting some firewoods , no reason for the extra 200 or 300 , no matter if the saw is two or three seconds more slow , and the bigest stupidity the 200 dollars bars
Ah yes but you must remember for those of us where time is very, very valuable. 2-3 seconds per cut, when you only have one or 2 full days of cutting every 1 or 2 months = a lot more wood in the truck and in the stacks!! And lets be honest who doesn't from ear to ear with the rip snortin power of a pro saw!! Now give that 562 a muff mod for apples to apples comparison. I bet it takes off another second to second and a half... I also like that I can lean on my 562 a little and it doesn't give up much on the rpm and bog down. Note: I don't have any comparison stats though, other than feel compared to my husky 450 rancher. True test is bucking spikes dug in and pushing that saw through the wood. Too each their own though. If its the saw that fits the budget. And your happy with what you got for the $,
I actually like the power band of the Echo, lots low-end torque, more so than the 562 IMHO. The 562 simply has more power at higher rpm's, as you can tell in the video. Down time is also a factor when in a production setting. I myself wonder which saw is and will be more reliable? So far the track record on the 562 has been pretty abysmal to be completely honest. The Echo's are old school simple, and so far rock solid. It's all relative when it comes down to it. Determining what saw is best in which setting isn't easy. For most I believe the Echo is the better overall choice, especially in the long term IMHO.
One thing worth mentioning is that as a stock machine, that 590 specs out at 13.2 lbs and well under 4hp. Meaning that it should feel an awful lot like a Stihl MS290. And next to that 562, it should feel like a cinder block. Andyshine77, where would you say it stood power wise next to the ol' Farm Boss?
All theese with the 1 or 2 seconds diferent = lot more woods , can be hapend in forums or in the house back yard with house conditions but when you come from the fantasy to the real life ( mountain and forest conditions ) there all theese will not help there will only help how much good loger you are , how good you use the saw , how good you know to shapening the chain but not to the bench vise , how good you know to use the diferent cuting techniques , and much much more. be good and safe
The 590 will be ahead of the FarnBoss in power, the FB saws I've ran were total dogs. The real weights that were posted on another site. The 562 is 12. 12oz empty. The cs-590 comes in at 13 5oz empty. Fully loaded with oil and fuel I can't tell any difference, other than how they balance. The 562 is a physically more compact saw. The listed Power and weights from the manufactures have never been accurate.
Most saws with spring AV are smooth, I'd give the edge to the 562. How you setup you're chain is important as well. The two smoothest modern saws I've ever ran were the Dolmar 5100 and Husky 576xp. Not just because of the AV setup, the engines are buttery smooth as well.
In reality we could argue over options for years. But when it comes to alot of saw for the money, Echo really makes it hard on the competition. And it's not like we can turn this into the best 60cc saw, because the 6100 is not here. Oops I guess it is now. Lol Just razing
So true. Being able to drop a tree so it easier to get the truck or how ever your moving the wood out can save tons of time. Also being able to work on your saw in the timber is a time saving skill at times.
