    Of course shouting the words and accentuating the hard syllables doesn't soften de Deutsche any at all.:whistle::p

    It's true tho that they often take the long way around to expressing things that are easily conveyed in one or two syllables in other languages.

    Also love the full paragraph of one sentence...with the verb at the end...kinda like an afterthought. I have on occasion had to read some German scientific papers, it's a challenge.

    I speak German. I was a foreign exchange student back in HS. I also minored in German in college.

    That said, it's far from a sexy language. But, it's a highly technical language. So it's fitting with their engineeeing.

    Italian and Spanish are far more sexy languages.

    To quote Vince, the Germans make good stuff.



    I would love to take some German classes as I want to go to northern Germany where both sides of my family is from. So far I'm just concentrating on learning German biers and food. :)

    Where did you stay in Germany Horkn?
