Beer & BBQ? On my way

 

rolling on ~4hrs sleep last night.
gonna burn a piece of cow, sauté some squash, and fresh corn then hit the hay.
The pool was calling my name but I'm not sure a 70F wake me up dive is in the cards tonight

 

Made it to the graduation party (foreign exchange student who stayed with my daughter for a year) then we stopped at a German bar.



We could have stayed a long time! So many German biers, so little time!

 

Spent the yesterday on the beach with the family and friends. Wetted a couple lines in the surf but no takers. All week the reports were awesome off the beach but not when im there . Baby piney loves the beach so it's all worth it.

Hope everyone has a great, safe memorial day weekend. And take a moment to remember those who've served.

Coffee time. Watching the local news coverage of all the indy 500 people trying to cram into a 2.5 mile track. Expected crowd is 450,000.
It sold out this year so I'll get to watch it live on tv.

I don't know how I used to handle that crowd every year. Guess I'm getting old.

All is well here my friend. Swamped. Trip away on business/training. Family time. Grass mowing. Dropping in once and a while to read a little. Still haven't finished my wood for next year!

 

After being in the 90's on Saturday (house was in the 80's), yesterday the high was not quite 60 and dark clouds all day so no solar gain. At least the house cooled off. Now it is in the 40's and raining. The house I cold enough that I would normally bump on the stove to take off the chill, but it is supposed to get sunny and 80 sometime this afternoon, so conserving the natural air conditioning while I can.

 

Getting around a bit slow this morning, enjoying the cool morning air. Heading out to the Memorial Day Services before lunch.

Potluck to follow at the Legion. Bringing both fresh fruit and peanut butter bars. It's up to them how healthy they feel like eating.

 

Got the cherry tree picked and some tractor work done. About to have some lunch and head out to the shop for some 4H woodworking with the boys. Grilled salmon for dinner.

 

Finally got my car all squared away.
Goin racin this weekend!!!

Great weather for the Memorial Day Service today...except every year it seems to mist up a bit when I hear taps played after the 21 gun salute...odd.



Carried and posted the flags of my father and three other veterans. It was an honor to do so.

 

Good for you! I brewed a pot (decaf) last might and we enjoyed it at the campfire at the cottage. It was the third mild night with little or no rain and fish biting (barely)!
