I went to Chopy's place today to take him up on his offer. Despite the weather had a great day. Cut a lot of wood, bullchitted a lot. He took me into his restaurant and we had lunch. Then we cut some more wood and loaded it into his trailer. Talked by the fire a while before we took off. My truck does not have a plug in so Tony drove it to my house(45 minutes each way) and helped me unload. He is a great guy and I am happy to have met him. For this my vote is for Chopy-FHC MOY! Sorry I did not take more photos, next time tho!
No, I am not MOY, it's what people are supposed to do. Help each other out when you have more then you need of something, you share. I sure wouldn't do Firewood it's a tough way to make money unless you get big time into a processor, etc... I am only looking to be content, getting outback, a fire and friends stopping by to BS and I am happy.
Here's to Chopy that was very nice of ya! I'm nearby if you ever need some help. I don't get down to the "big" city too often. I need my space.
I love these posts! Makes all the work of creating this place WELL WORTH IT! Hats off to Chopy and all of the others like him who give selflessly to others!
Thanks, Jack but right now my biggest problem is making room for more wood. I think I have worked out another spot to put the branches and limbs. Ran an ad for the big blocked rounds today, great for someone who has the time for them to season. Unless you want to come get them Jack! No charge to you just because you offered to help if I need it. Oak Rounds, Large
After being here for a while I know most of every member would do the same thing. Keep in mind that I benefit as I get the stuff that needs to be cut out of the yard and they cut half for me then I only have to split the stuff that is already blocked when it gets here saving me a step in the process. I have many customers that have been coming into my place of business ( restaurant ) for years, they know my hobby is selling firewood and those that do cut and split I make sure that they know this site is the one to be on. Yes the work of creating a site is strenuous, mind boggling and tiring but like firewo0od when you can sit back and see what you have done hopefully there is a feeling of pride that you did it.
You are a good man Chopy. Wish we were neighbors, but then you'd probably want to stack a whole bunch of wood on our place. And I'd let you do it too.
No, I wouldn't I would just have my guy dump what I couldn't handle myself at your place saving both of us the work of moving it.
It did stack up to almost exactly a cord. It is all the rounds on the front pallets. I split about 25 rounds already that are not in the picture.
This one's for you Will H. I leave it for a few days maybe you living in Pa. will see that you have a great team right there in Pa. Only kidding.
