Lol! Thanks for the bar Mark! I really didn't need another project but couldn't pass it up! Glad you got it. Put it to good use! I think that 16" bar might go well on my ported 064 for a little cant cutting!

I feel you! I have no more space for saws. 2 car garage - jeep in one side, quad on a trailer on the other and saws plus all my other tools everywhere else. :picard:There may be room for a couple more saws though. :whistle:I'll get the Stihl in order soon enough.

I was thinking that 064 might be under powered for a 16" bar. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

    I have a 5200 I would trade you for that 288. She doesn't look like your 3400 but she's a runner!

Sorry, no can do with the 288. I had it completely buried, leaning on it hard in a huge poplar , 24" bar running LGX, and it did not skip a beat. I also know if I destroy the saw I can rebuild with a nikasil for cheap.

There may be couple saws in the grass in that pic that I might trade though. 2 for 1 ;)

I am using both ports right now. It responded pretty well but I only put it in 7" oak to tune it. They are both screened and it sounds like a dirt bike! I have no timed cuts yet but I will give you an update when I use it to cut for a full day. I have a stock muffler I will use for comparison.

I thought I would throw it out there. if you ever change your mind send me a pm. I just figured you had that 064 to take the 288's place. That was the only saw that is on my list in your pic.

I don't have a 064, only a 038AVS that I just picked up but have not gone through it yet - It's going to be my regular mid size saw.

Runs great, but doesn't move the chain. Trouble somewhere in the transmission.
