HD, how many cord do you burn a year? I only burn about 2 and someone here said he burnt that much just venting his stove. But I got the bug. I cleared the back 2 acres of my property about 8 years ago and people kept stopping by and asking if the wood was for sale ( must be some of those FHC members ) I hear they can't ever have enough firewood. Back then I chased and scrounged for wood to sell. Now I won't go across the street to get wood as I can't handle what my tree service guy brings me in exchange for parking his truck and equipment on my land. Even though I don't burn nearly what most here do I enjoy the processing of firewood and trying to make it faster and easier.

I just keep thinking compared to the early 1900's today's equipment is at least 100 times quicker to do the same amount of wood they did back then. Think about going back in time with just your chainsaw. I wonder what it will be like 50 years from now. Maybe some sort of Laser cutter. I would love to invent some sort of stacking machine, yes the money would be nice but think about how much labor and backs that would save. I know I need a life.

Resurrected my first chainsaw. A cheapy but it cut alot of wood 20+ years ago. Fresh gas and bar oil, it fired up on the 2nd pull. I remember why I parked now. Needs a new bar and chain and a new clutch(chain just spins freely at idle). I'll fix it up and use though. Always did like this little saw!
I have been in the process of refurbishing a 1996 Husky model 36. I didn't think much of it at first, but after some serious cleanup and some new parts, I do believe it's gonna be a runner! It's always satisfying to make something old and broken work like new again.
Come on what kind of American are you? Just throw it away we live in a disposable society. Doing what you and LocoEngineer are doing is what made this country great.
