    Just another part of the wasteful society we live in, everything has to be done NOW!!!! No time to look for an alternative use. I see it here with big ag all the time. Bring in the dozers and backhoes, push it all in a pile and burn it!

    Even the tree crews cutting for utility companies chip everything 12" and less. I don't know about the rest of you but I use alot of firewood less that.

    I save everything bigger than 3" diameter, especially when it's oak, hickory and locust....

    About 2 blocks away they were clearing a site not that long ago. I saw logs piled up. I was going to stop the next day and see if I could get anything. It was pouring that day so there was nobody working. Drive over after work the next day and they had a tub grinder on site and they said they ground everything. What a shame.

    Maine highway maintenance uses something like that now. The tress that are cut back look like some sort of salad master got into them. They used to cut them and then toss the trees and brush into a shredder, but now they are just shredded.
