I have a quart of Royal Purple synthetic, should I run 50:1 as the manual, 40:1, 32:1 or ?
I have been running 40 to 1 in all saws

New saws do fine on 50:1 especially on synthetics. Heresy I know. Won't hurt it to run a few tanks of 40:1 either Most important is to make sure the carb is tuned correctly.

I know at 50:1 full synthetic took 10 plus tanks to break in.

I actually wouldn't use full synthetic to break in a 2 stroke. The rings will seat better by using non synthetic.

What is this "break in" you speak of? Is this alluding to actually running your saws? That's ridiculous!
Chainsaws are loud, and very dangerous. You guys are crazy.

Break in : the act of the first polishing with a quality secret Polish applied with a chamois or other soft cloth such as 1200 count Egyptian Cotton. Also includes the preparation of desired resting place. Preparation should include at eye level, warm shelf with mood lighting.

Uh? Shouldn't there be a goose down pillow, with satin pillow case under that saw?

Don't forget the heat lamp, new saws don't like to be cold......

Am I gonna be the only one to say run what ya' brung?

50:1 won't kill it, 40:1 won't hurt anything and 32:1 will work just fine too.

I'm in no hurry to break in my saws either. Either they've already been around longer than I have or I plan on keeping them awhile yet. Heck, if I sell one I could always claim it's not even broke in yet and ask a couple hunnerd more seeing how it is my personal saw and all. :p. (Joke carried over from other sites for those wondering WTH I'm talking about. ;) )

That's a great way to do it. Rev under load, just don't keep it pinned for too long for the first 3 tanks or so. A few warn ups and cool downs, heat cycles, help too.

I am going to attempt to be serious here(please don't faint).
I have been running 40:1 88 E Free: Shindaiwa Red Armor for the last two years, and have been really pleased. I have four "Spicy" saws, and twice that many "stock" saws, along with my 40cc Tanaka brush trimmer, and Husqvarna 327PT5S pole saw. All are run on the same mix.
