I spent the weekend trying to get my wood mess in front of the garage cleaned up in preparation for my Memorial Day BBQ. We actually had some pretty decent weather here all weekend - a little chilly but most of the precip stayed a couple miles to the south. The colder temps kept ths bugs at bay - and the black flies have been terrible this year. I tried to "kill 2 birds with one stone" as much as possible. I needed a place to stack all the ash I grabbed the other day, and one of the unfinished projects in the pile was a new 8x8 pallet. I wanted to put it in the back yard next to my stack of red pine, but I needed to move that over about 4' to put it where I wanted it. So I got a little more BTUs out of that stack too. I also got all of this split up - the tops and slabs of the red pine from my sisters a few weeks ago. Probably won't get this stacked today - I'm beat. Made a bit of lumber too - including this piece of black walnut from a leftover slab. I'm thinking about making a few more benches - I could use some more seating. But I think I'll be saving this piece.
Great pics as always. The only issue I see is one split slightly uneven with the rest of the stack.. Wow you make some nice stacks!!
Nice stacks Shawn. And that walnut slab looks amazing! I don't have any walnut on my property, but it sure is purdy.
You're a working fool Shawn. Perhaps you should consider a week's vacation to come back here from some quality time. We'd even show you a better path across that sand area!
