Cherry Coming Out

I plan on hauling out the Cherry that's c/s we have in the woods in three different areas, I'm hoping it's two face cord if not more.

Edit, the Cherry I cut is on the right in the picture in tree form.

I gots 2 splain this chit better.

The picture is the one I did after the Sugar Maple.

 

Looks like another nice cherry you could cut up to add to the haul on the right side there.

 

Sorry about that L.P., that was the one I cut, the Sugar Maple is split and in a stack in the meadow.

 

AH...gotcha...I didn't read it close enough. I thought you meant that pile of splits down there was what you were bringing out. I'm tired and my back hurts is that a good enough excuse ?

 

Once I get half the Cherry stacked we'll hit the water with the boat, I'll start charging the battery tomorrow.

I had the winter off...... no snow for the snowmobiles so I'm hoping we have enough water for boating.

 

I was on the pontoon boat today with 5 other people and my 2 dogs.

I didn't go out sledding either this year. Messed up winter. We got more snow on April than in March.

I'll get in the woods next weekend and do some hauling and splitting.

You got more firewood work done than I did today.

However, my wife is happy that our kids( furry ones) took her out for a boat ride and a day on the lake.

Pics 0083 & 84 are of the same pile of Cherry in the woods, 0086 is some Cherry from a smaller tree that came down in the woods this winter, pics 0087 & 89 is more Cherry back in the woods so I'll start hauling it out soon.

Pic 0094 is some Cherry by the house that I cut during the winter and early spring, I'll have the stacking area for the Cherry ready by the end of the week.

What do you think all the wood will add up to, two face cord?

 

I have a feeling it will be more than 2 face cords.

 

I start stacking the Pine tomorrow, I'm don't think I'll get it done tomorrow because I'm helping out my neighbor out starting around 1 p.m., once I finish the Pine I'll get the Cherry up.

The boat battery will be charged by tomorrow afternoon so I'll spend some time getting that ready for the first outing.

Tons of downed trees up yonder, what's up with your woods?

 

More trees up than down. Most of the trees that were down had been on the top of a ridge and then we had a Micro Burst roll through about 4-5 years ago which took down some nice trees.

 

I did haul the Cherry out yesterday in the bigger trailer behind the truck (no pics I was in a pizzed off mood) I did get half of it stacked before I heard thunder in the distance so I called it a day.

I hope to finish stacking the Cherry in the trailer tomorrow depending on the weather.

Even with no wind gusts, some trees just die off in a healthy older growth forest.

It's like that at my woods I cut at.

Speaking of downed cherry, I've got one, at least 14-16" that is down. That's my next job in the woods.

 

We still are burning some Cherry we had left from this past winters wood, we still have just under a face cord left.

The area I'm stacking the Cherry in will hold 2.48 cord of wood or eight face cord, after that we have room for another 2.48 cord of shoulder season wood and then all stacking areas we'll be full.

My goal will to be done cutting this summer by the second week of June.

One of the downed Hemlocks I'll be working on is near a swamp so maybe after I get the Cherry stacked that;s in the big trailer, I'll start on that.
