Improving the tool to blow out the pellet stove

The compressor nozzle broke again so I wanted something better.

I found this Hi Velocity gun but no easy way of attaching a silicone hose for getting into the ash traps?

So using a nut nut and bolt and a few washers and bingo!

What I have never understood is why some builders make stoves with such convoluted messes for ash traps.

The best thing ever was when somebody figured out that using the leaf blower would solve most ash accumulation issues.

Far too many nooks and crannies left in some units that catch crud.

When you use the blow tool I hope you have the stove outdoors
Crazy fly ash gets everywhere even when you are careful about cleaning for sure.

 

Agree, and if you can have the leaf blower on when blasting the fire box and ash traps with the compressor, then all the ash goes out the venting and not in your face!

Yup, that's the trick all right

That stove was pretty clean, as not much came out.

When I suck mime out after a couple weeks worth, it really skunks up the sky.

 

I use a blow gun with a threaded nozzle that I replaced with a 3' length of 3/16" automotive brake line... I can bend it to clean out all those hard to get at places.
