This tree fell across our road in front of neighbors house this week during a storm. Not sure of wood quality, might end up being outdoor firepit wood, going to cut and haul home today. Will get a few pics. firewood beside road .jpg

The only it would be easier is if someone cut it up and brought it to your place. Hey you never know.

Cut it into 4 ft sections to carry home, there were 8 pieces, pretty solid, except for bottom section. Only about 1/8 mile to my house. It's an old hickory so will be a good burn. I never can tell the difference between bitternut hickory and mockernut hickory, We have both. Neighbor is grateful to have someone else do the work , they don't burn much wood. It's a win-win. cut into 4 ft sections .jpg

Bitternut Hickory is the only kind with yellow buds. I have a stand and burn quite a bit of it. I love it, very heavy wood.
