Cinco de Mayo Colibri- they have arrived

First hummingbird of the season showed up today. I am making Star Gazers 3/1 food mix.

I've not seen any here yet, but the morels have just started. Signs of spring!

 

Yup, 3 cups water- 1 cup sugar. Only for early spring and late Fall. 4/1 should be standard summer fare.
If the hummers blow up, I'll blame Star Gazer.

 

Wife just noticed the feeder started going down yesterday.
They're back!

 

Talked to better half this a.m. about getting ready, should be seeing them shortly...................

 

We had a black chin show up on March 25th. Lots of activity now with both black chins and broadtails. The real fun starts around the first of July when the rufus-tails show up. These little critters really make me smile.

 

We've had a bunch move through here already. They seem to taper off the feeders for a few weeks May-early June, not sure if they are nesting or other food sources?

Might try the 3-1 mix today cause the current batch is starting to cloud up
