May 1st- temps hovering around 40°F with rain. Added a few splits of oak to keep the damp out.

A couple of cool nights (fri and sat) with temps down into the 30's both nights. Stayed at the cottage where the 13 was fired up on Friday and made it absolutely too hot for sleeping all night! Sat night, burnt a little more humanly acceptable! Ash and maple and a slab of oak here and there...

Yooper I don't get it.... it's 30 degrees outside.... does the cottage not have windows or screen door? my wife loves over heating house cracking bedroom window and listening to the peepers...

in short man don't not sleep open window and cuddle.. it OK to waste heat if you earned it and 99 is happy!

Looks like rain on and off straight through next weekend, along with cool temps. Im sure ill get a few fires going to combat the dampness. None tonight, even though it will get cool enough, but idt in the upper 60s, so good sleeping temps!

Been cool & rainy here too. Low volume fires at night to kill the damp. 40's & low 50's. No sun. Blech.

Too bad about the rain and closed windows, on the flip side who cares if it's toasty inside:) My lil one is sick too, spring cold virus bug junk , what does yours have? Hope they both shake it off soon!

40 Prolly let it go out or burn down till tonite.
Last week I got a 48+ hour burn out of a load of coal/oak. Blower wasn't kicking on the last 24 but residual heat was filtering up through my tri-level.
Got my pane tank filled the other day. $1.39/gal. Cheapest I've seen in 10 years.
