So I was walking by my Central a/c unit yesterday and I noticed my t/stat wires were broken or chewed off. Me being the smart feller I am thinks to myself "Wonder if that is why my A/C didn't work last year"? I know 1 runs to the "c" terminal at the furnace and 1 runs to the "y" terminal. Where they run to at the unit it looks like there is 1 running to "T2" and one running to "L2" does it matter which one goes where?

    Thanks
    Gary

A picture is worth a thousand words! It would be the 2 yellow wires next to each other. 20160424_192508.jpg

Actually the T2 and the L2 designation is for line voltage (220v). I know it is a bit misleading because it looks like they (T2 & L2) go to the two yellow t-stat connections....but they do not. However, to answer your question, polarity in the 24v circuit is not a concern, so either of the chewed wires can go to either of the two low voltage spade clip connections, and those are the two yellow wires.

Yea after I thought about It I realized the L1 was one of the power lines. just wondering about the polarity on the tstat wires. I figured it wouldnt make a difference just wanted to be sure before I threw sparks!:hair:
