Watch out for that occasional fork in the tub.

We did the same thing! 1998 we were in a 7 x 20 logging trailer in the driveway, -17* and record winds it was freezing in that trailer. We moved a mattress in next to the woodstove in the empty house, we did not have certificate of occupancy yet:eek: Funniest part was, every day it looked like one or the the other side of my face was sunburned from sleeping so close to the stove depending on which side I slept on:rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Our town didn't issue certs of occupancy at that time. They did a year or so later because we needed a cert for the bank to release some of the funds for building. Every person who built their own house in the town after that point have us to thank for making them get a cert of occupation before they could camp out in it.

We moved in in February but I don't remember it being particularly harsh that winter. Course our mattress was on the floor, and with 3 big, hairy dogs (2 husky mixes and a Samoyed mix) climbing onboard with us, no way anyone was going to be cold. We didn't have a woodstove then, just the FHW and dogs :D.

I worked on this area of brush and bamboo this morning. I used a trimmer with the triple arm metal cutter head. The bamboo was hollow, so it went right through it.

I had black flies for lunch.

I finished up with this small dead oak scrounge next to the walking path. It is 75 and muggy today. I got to use the 455 Rancher again. Again, very impressed. 20160422_114040.jpg

Well the rain held off long enough this morning that I was able to move some dirt with the 210C. Then I worked a little overtime and now am watching two kids while wife and other little one get grocery shopping done. Will be helping to unload them shortly. Then dinner and then a short walk/run workout. Then time to relax!

I am glad the day is over. It has been report card week and especially today when we were printing, finding mistakes, fixing mistakes, printing and then stuffing envelopes. Get down to the post office and the ladies tell me that parents have been in looking for their report cards. Some kids will have nice weekends - others won't.

Got my new bathroom vent fan installed..after two more trips to the store, one for a Tee as the original had no duct work just dumping into the joist space, second trip to buy a crimping tool I'll probably never use again. I had cut ~8"x10" of sheetrock to move the feeder wire ( on the other side of the joist not enough slack for new box). Almost ripped the ceiling out but have company next week.

It vents and is super bright, so I spent this afternoon scrubbing the shower & glass door.
Then cleaned the upstairs guest bath after the GF's sister moved out this week - some people are just Pigpens:picard:

I ended up with the same hotel room-mate 3 years in a row for week long corp meetings in Chicago (hotel). OMG, she trashed the room within an hour of arriving. Every year she set her extra large suitcase on end of her bed open and scattered her clothes and shoes all over the room with the bag still half full (she slept sideways up by the pillows), entire large bath counter dusted/smeared with makeup stuff, I walked between her clothes and towels on the bathroom floor to shower in the morning. :hair:

I hope the joists are ok after all that exposure to moisture? And the soap scum sure does build up, doesn't it? They told us in boot camp (decades ago) that zest brand has little build up so I prefer to use that. Don't know if it's true or not, just stuck with it over the years.

One more thing...it's not called bathroom fan....right wildwest ?

I had "some" soap scum on the shower door Colorado (soft water), it cleaned off easily. Here, using same soaps, the soap scum is stubborn!!! It has a white crystalized thing about it. I now understand all the commercials for soap scum cleaner commercials on tv.

Caffeine ! Looks like it will be a nice day today. Time to move blocked up firewood back to the pile. Then maybe cut some more. I may do some splitting tomorrow.

Think I'll have to wait a while to let the dirt dry out before I move anymore again. We didn't get much rain yesterday, but enough to make the work area and road I'm working on real slick.

That's okay though, lots to do outside and nice weather to do it in for today and tomorrow.

99's been tearing up the house the last couple of days with spring cleaning. I was hoping she'd want to go get her "Chinese" on today.

I think my time of two days a week for work is just about over. Yesterday morning, the boss called and asked for job status on a couple places we have been at.....
Good thing is he did remember to include the phrase "Well, you are semi-retired..." in his conversation!
