Yup, glad the shed is full. Just watched a news report on the propane shortage (no doubt industry built) and how it is driving up the propane prices. The propane truck visited us last week to fill our tanks on our back-up system. Price had jumped .20 a litre in one month from .749/ltr to .949/ltr. Best part was he was only able to stuff 24.7 ltrs. in our tank..............pass me another piece of wood, eh!!!!!

Propane is up 10% here. The $35-45/face ads on CL have disappeared and a few $75 ads have shown up. Yet another good reason to stay ahead.

Haha savemoney. Saw that story on the news last night. Thought of everyone here. 6-8 week delivery time from when your order is placed. Yikes!

No shortage for me this year ! I saw my honey bees foraging like crazy in the fall...and they closed up shop early as well . I have learned to listen and watch what they do . So we foraged a little extra firewood too as a precaution . Turned out to be the right call !

Someone is always watching for a chance. That is why around here most people put their wood in the back yard, not along side the driveway.

Saw that too. Nice to not be in that boat...got everyones attention in my house.

Funny that the guy who is in the firewood business doesn't burn wood.

I'd like to see some numbers to back up that 3 days in the kiln equals 6 months stacked outside...guess it all depends on a lot of variables.

I saw an ad recently from a firewood dealer saying that they would pay the same as the mills for log loads $150 a cord an up. Crazy.

My two labs are alway alert, but while they might run right up to you and knock you over, they then proceed to lick your face! It's the barking alert that deters intruders and gets my attention.

You would want to get caught here either. At 6'4" I'm the biggest of three brothers, the smallest being 6'2." We are all well over 200lbs and live without fear. And we all burn wood.

Oh, and I am the sane one.

I'm getting better though, actually made it back to work today.

Ok, sane may not be the best way to put it. Least insane?

The last few got caught red handed with two stolen splitters and 40+ cord of stolen firewood. I made a heck of a stink after I was told ( it happens! ) and ( waste of time to look ) the cops finally did something after I went to the county level with a formal written complaint. The splitters where setting next to the piles unscratched new paint trying to look like they had been splitting. TSC had reported two stolen splitters a couple weeks before.:D Mess with the Pallet Pete household heat and the Pallet Pete is persistent in his pursuit of prosecution of the propagating persons!

Kiln dry and ready in 2 to 3 days......I'll call foul. My good friend has a kiln for drying lumber and there ain't no way. Of course they said it would take 6 months the traditional way.
