I was out splitting most of the day, wife took daughter and her weekend playmate but every couple of hours when I came in I switched loads in washer dryer so I was running IPE and OPE most of the day:D oh and since we don't have a dishwasher I do that too.. our beautiful house was designed by a man! translate that to mean 10 by 10 kitchen 2 standard 5 by 8 baths and no bloody closets..:headbang: wife said 3 years ago I want a dishwasher.. I said simply pick 30 inch base cabinet you want to lose and I will install!:p She instead bought me an apron that says happily married cause I wash dishes:whistle:....

Planned on finishing my 3 year plan, DONE! Had all the wood already, finally all split and stacked, Six cord put up. Go through about 1.5 cord a season just burning on weekends and holiday breaks. Even managed to get a truckload of uglies and shorts split for a canoe trip I'm going on in two weeks and fill up the rack for bonfires. Feels good to be done with wood for the season but I'm not putting away the saws, I'm sure I'll get into something sooner than later.

Day two was not as productive but had some fun anyways. Finished off blazing the northernmost boundary. Big deep valley where I have no trails so some slips and falls were mandatory. I did see a turkey and a neat owl today while perusing the woods. Only cutting was some junk laying over some trails. I found what I believe to be a turkey duster. Not sure how else to explain this spot in the dirt.

The valley I was stumbling around in today.

Woo Hoo, a man in every wive's heart:) on IPE and OPE!

I had ~ 8 x 10 kitchen for several years, it contained sink, stove range, fridge, stacker washer/dryer, and front door plus utility closet with the dining table in the center. I gladly gave up my one corner base cabinet for a used dishwashing machine from a garage sale:dex:. Addition we built on the house later did not enough closets or cabinets either:eek:, it happens.

As long as you all can cook good food who cares!

Beautiful day today. My dad brought the loader tractor over to my sisters and helped me with everything I wanted to accomplish and more. We repositioned the black walnut so I'll be able to finish milling that. We also dropped the English walnut and a red pine at the end of their driveway. Cleaned up a lot of the brush and cut a load of black walnut too.

I feel like I got a whole lot accomplished, but somehow I ended up with a heck of a lot more work to do over there than when I started!

Yesterday I started splitting a load of Ash I brought home on Friday. Pulled the lawn tractor out, changed the oil, greased it and sharpened the blades. We also have a push mower to use on a long drainage ditch along the road; a real PITA to keep down. I should mention that I hate using a weed wacker.

Here's the ditch. It goes about 100' in the other direction as well.

    So I got innovative yesterday.

I decided to put "studs" on the mower tires. I drilled small pilot holes and ran decking screws into them.

It still slipped a little so before I need to do it again I'm going to put a few more in each tire and leave them sticking out a bit farther.

Today is a day for me. I'll be headin' down to Gettysburg to play guitar all day. :)

    FAILURES!:headbang:

There was several tablespoons of gear oil on the cardboard under the tiller today, so clearly my oil seal did not fix the problem. I should have known, it went way too easily.

Then, I finally got around to putting the trailer hitch on my wife's car. Got about half-way done and now it looks like it doesn't fit. I double, triple and quadruple checked on the Curt website, and it sure looks like I have the right product. I'll have to take that down to the local shade-tree mechanic to put it up on a lift and see if we can jimmy it into place.

At least we got the bee package installed without a single sting. I hope these work out this year.

Yes, that looks like a turkey duster. We live on sand so get a lot of those here.

Second picture has just a little water visible on the right hand side and that is Lake Superior. Last picture is indeed the Lake of the Clouds, in the Porcupine Mountains.

Day 3 of fantastic weather. Got the tractor out and graded some roads. Found a tree lying across a path. I'm not sure what I've got here. Can you gents clarify for me?
