hello, pelletheads. i haven't been around much. just in somewhat of a limbo/zombie state waiting for winter to go away.

our cat finally started shutting down to the point where we had to have the vet cause him to not be alive.
yesterday was the first full day w/o him here.
in the 4 1/2 years we've lived here, i stay home pretty much always. i didn't really comprehend how much a part of my life he really was.
we were always just here together.
it seems like today might be a little easier. i'll evaluate that once my wife leaves for the day.

in other news, i'm getting nervous about ordering pellets.
i've always ordered as soon as the snow is gone, but this year i had it in mind to try out pinetree pellets if and when he gets up and running.

SIB down in jay just dropped MWP ten bucks to $224 (pick up only)
but i'm going to keep my powder dry for now. i may end up getting my usual 6 ton of mwp and then just one of the pinetree when they become available.

Sorry to hear this. They really are part of the family and when gone a hole within you is left behind.
    My deepest condolences.

Sorry to hear about your cat.

I would probably do what you said at the end. Buy the six tons so you got what you need and then buy a ton of Pinetree.

yup, my wife went in this morning, same as usual. only extensions to file and press people to send in their efile forms so she can submit them. The bosses thought that Friday night would be better for the party than Monday - it was a good plan.

So sorry for your loss - they do become a huge part of our life even when they just lay in our lap - or on top of whatever we are trying to read.

St Earl, sorry to hear about having to have your kitty put down. My shadow had to be put down last July. Kitties are good company, even when they are being less than well behaved.

Sorry to hear about the kitty moving on. I know how that they are a lot of company and will be missed.
I wouldn't wait too long on getting some pellets for next year. I want to be wrong, but my gut feeling is that the pellet plants will be slow with the amount they make, and that the retailers will not be willing to take a loss again. That could drive the price up even when it is cheaper to run the furnace.

thanks. i just wrote to SIB and am angling for that $224 price.
i have been a steady customer, so i imagine they will let me know when that price becomes available for delivery orders.

Sorry for your loss StEarl, I still miss the little guys that have passed here over the years, it's tough to watch them go. It does get better though over time.

x2 with IHP - that sounds like a solid plan. $224.00 discounted (even w/o delivery) would be an excellent price in this area right now.

Hope you can get out & enjoy the nice weather this weekend.

i just heard back, and i'm getting 6 tons at $219. i'm stoked.
$85 flat rate delivery from downstate (jay) to millinocket. which is so fine considering my option locally is our subaru outback.
even renting a truck i wouldn't get all 6 tons in one load, and it would probably end up costing a lot more.

Well have a new DOCSIS 3.0 Modem en-route and NetGear will be getting the C6300 back after the new unit is up and running and the prepaid shipping label gets here. I don't know why they want the unit back as it is a known (to me at least) firmware issue. I'll be going back to my 4500 router. Now just wait until Charter screws up the rest of TWC and Brighthouse. A bear best prepare for a long year of ISP crap.

    Well Steve what next?

pbr consumption has been elevated here the last few days.

i did want to mention that SIB (wood pellet warehouse) has delivery rates based on distance.
